AI vs. Community? No. AI + Community!

Session Abstract

AI is changing the way people find, use, and interact with community-generated content, learning from the community rather than competing with it, which makes communities and member-generated knowledge only grow in relevance. This session aims to cut through both the hype and the fear surrounding AI’s role in community and discuss practical applications and opportunities that community professionals can take advantage of. Attendees will walk away with a reframe around how AI is reshaping traffic and search behavior in the community, practical ways to use AI to support—not replace—community efforts, and guardrails for keeping the community authentic, valuable, and human-centered.
